Sprinting Helps Fat Loss

By | July 4, 2008

Does sprinting help fat loss?  Yes it does.  Let me explain further.  Shorts burst of sprinting is know as interval training.  This means that during your normal exercise workouts, you add in a sudden burst of very high and intense activity so that you challenge your heart rate.  This sudden change is a surprise to your body, confuses your muscles and hence your fat is burnt up quicker.

If you’re used to doing aerobic routines, some occasional bursts of short sprints on the spot during this is a good way to add interval training.  Or of you walk, jog, or run you can add in a quick burst of sprinting.  You want to ensure that for a small amount of time you’re really pushing your body and then go back to normal.  Before you consider adding sprinting and interval training to your program, check with your doctor as this type of activity may just be too much for your body.

I particularly like adding a bit of sprinting because I love the feeling that I’ve suddenly worked really hard and also knowing that I don’t need to do it for long is a relief as well.

You want to increase the amount and intensity of these sudden bursts as the weeks pass so that you’re improving.
